Egyptian Rolling Block Two-Band Musketoon
Description: Serial #32934, .43 Egyptian, 27 1/4" barrel with a very good bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is a seldom seen military long arm that has a Remington-made, Type 4 receiver and is profusely stamped at the breech with Arabic markings, including what looks to be an issue, or rack number: “1693". The metal has an overall dark brown patina with heavily rounded edges, and thin freckling throughout. The wood is likewise well worn, and has numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes scattered about the added varnish finish. The forend may be a replacement taken from a full-length rifle as it does not seem to have the indent at the rear to fit into the receiver. The action is fully functional, and the original ramrod is included. George Layman mentions in his book: “Remington Rolling Block Military Rifles of the World" (2010), that he had only seen four examples of this musketoon at the time of its writing. This is an about good-good plus example overall. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: Egyptian Model: Rolling Block Serial Number: 32934 Caliber Info: .43 Mauser Gauge Info: .43 Mauser |
