WORLD WAR II Era Italian F.N.A. BRESCIA M1891 C&R Carbine FOLDING BAYONET
MOSCHETTO MODELLO 1891 w/INTEGRAL FOLDING BAYONET
Description: WORLD WAR II Era Italian F.N.A. BRESCIA M1891 C&R Carbine FOLDING BAYONET MOSCHETTO MODELLO 1891 w/INTEGRAL FOLDING BAYONET Here we present a C&R F.N.A. Brescia Italian Carcano Model 1891 Moschetto per Cavalleria, or Cavalry Carbine, manufactured circa the World War II era. This Carcano is a half-stocked cavalry carbine, with the unmistakable triangular folding bayonet which is fixed to a permanent muzzle mounting and hinges back under the stock, into a slot there. F.N.A. Brescia was a private enterprise pushed and funded by the government to help with the war effort towards and during WW2. In the late 1920s gun factory Pietro Lorenzotti decided to change its production course from commercial guns to military contracts, hence becoming F.N.A. (Fabbrica Nazionale d'Armi)- Brescia. With some help, contracts and funding from the Fascist Italian government, they tenfolded their employees by the time 1940 rolled around, kept their production up throughout the war and closed permanently in 1957. They not only produced carcano rifles but many other military tools and guns. Carcano is the frequently used name for a series of Italian bolt-action, magazine-fed, repeating military rifles and carbines. Introduced in 1891, this rifle was chambered for the rimless 6.5×52mm Carcano round. It was developed by the chief technician Salvatore Carcano at the Turin Army Arsenal in 1890 and was originally called the Modello (model) 91 or simply M91. Successively replacing the previous Vetterli-Vitali rifles and carbines, the M91 was used in both rifle (fucile) and shorter-barreled carbine (moschetto) form by most Italian troops during World War I and by Italian and some German forces during World War II. The overall condition is good. Robust action. Bright bore. This example maintains a solid stock with an average amount of wear. A split along the grain is present on the left side of the buttstock and it is not moveable and the likely result of weathering. Markings are legible. Own the original! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 17 inches. Caliber: 6.5mm Italian Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
