George Lucas equipped his Storm Troopers with E-11 Blasters which were designed, based on the British Sterling Sub-Machine Gun (SMG) L2A3, because it’s just plain cool.  The original Sterling SMG was successfully deployed by the British & other militaries in many conflicts up to and through 1994. Today you can buy the full-auto Sterling for 20K+ OR you can buy this Semi-Auto version and have a ton of absolute fun.

This is a Century Arms Sterling SMG MK4 L2A3 Type 2 semi-automatic carbine in 9mm. The Sterling Type II is a redesign of the Type I and features a Parkerized Finish and a full-length receiver that comes all the way up to the muzzle. This feature allows the front sight unit to be moved to the muzzle of the gun giving a much larger sight radius and increased accuracy.  It has a 16" Barrel and an underfolding stock which means this can be fired like a pistol.

There are 2, 34 round original design magazines that employ a roller system to ensure smooth feeding of ammunition and its very easy to load-up.  By today’s standards, the Sterling mags are a heavy, over-engineered affair but they work exceptionally well. Much of the CAI Sterling’s parts are assembled military surplus. The magazine well, like the original, is welded to the receiver and is original. It reads “Sterling SMG 9 m/m MK4 L2A3” and lists the original issued serial number.  Also, the carbine retains the markings of the original three-position safety: S = Safe, R = Repetition (British term for semi-automatic), A = Automatic, the “A” setting does not work on this Semi-Auto Sterling. The rear sight is a simple non-adjustable L-Type, flip site, with apertures set for 100 and 200 yards.  The front site is a simple blade set in a dovetail.  In theory, it’s adjustable for windage.
