Manufactured beginning in 1934 through the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany and into the early years of World War II, the Mauser Deutsches Sportmodell (often abbreviated DSM34) is a single shot, .22LR trainer rifle designed to be a miniaturized replica of Germany‚‚s standard issue military rifle Mauser Model 98. This example was produce sometime between late- 1934 and mid-1935 but was sporterized some time after World War II and then being imported into the United States. The sporterization was expertly done with the action and barrel being properly bedded into the stock to tighten tolerances. While it does not retain its original configuration, the barrel, receiver, and bolt are all parts matching in very good condition with a clean and shiny bore. The stock is in overall good shape, expertly bedded with the action with one scratch just forward of the ejection port
