** SOLD ** D.W.M. (Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken) 1909 Argentine Contract Mauser Rifle in 7mm Mauser Caliber **Honest DWM Service Rifle**
Description: Presented for consideration is a DWM produced 1909 Agentine contract Mauser in 7.65x53mm Argentine caliber. The Mauser 1909 was a slightly modified copy of the Gewehr 98. Among other modifications, the Lange Visier sight was replaced by a tangent leaf sight. The M1909 was also able to use the bayonet of the Mauser 1891 it replaced. The main producer in Germany was Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken that delivered 200,000 rifles while around 85,000 rifles were manufactured by the Fabrica Militar de Armas Portatiles, governmental plants in Rosario and Santa Fe. This particular example is in good overall physical and mechanical condition for a service rifle. The rifle has lost much of it's original finish and metal components have been worn to a warm patina or some spots to metal. Obvious high edge wear and handling marks. The stock has earned some pressure marks over the decades of service. Sights are an adjustable rear and a post front. Everything seems to be correct and matching. This rifle would make a great addition to a collection of militaria or a strong start to a new collection.
