Every hunter dreams of owning one fine rifle that he can pass on to the next generation, well if ever there was such a rifle this is it.... "Fear the man with one gun for he probably knows it well"...
This rifle is an Original Mauser built in Isny Germany to order in 2007. Serial MS 0035 which indicated Mauser Standard action number 35. These rifles were true one off a kind pieces back then and a waiting time off 2 years was the norm.
It’s built on a very rare standard length double square bridge (solid left side) action in 30-06.
Barrel is 22", LOP is 14". Weight is 9lb complete, stock is grade 8 walnut with ebony forend tip, the rear sight, front sling swivel and brass bead front sight are all machined from the bar stock and banded.
This rifle has the optional 3 position (M70 style) locking safety with gold inlayed S & F.
The double square bridges are integrally machined to except swing off scope bases for an ultra-solid and guaranteed return to zero on fitting, included in the sale are 3x pairs of Recnagal scope mounts.
The rifle only returned from John Rigby & Co Ltd in London about 7 months ago where the stock was reworked by Mr. Mark Renmant master stocker who has been awarded this year’s McMillan Trophy for excellence in gunmaking by the Worshipful Company of Gunmakers for his work on the exquisite bolt action .275 rifle built to commemorate Jim Corbett. Rigby also installed a custom made standard length drop floor plate magazine and follower to give this rifle a capacity to hold 6 rds of 30-06 in the magazine.
Trigger is a single stage set at 2.5lb with zero creep or over travel.
