Yugo Military Model 24/47 Mauser in 8x57mm Mauser
* All-Matching & MINTY! *
Description: This is a minty, all-original, all-matching Yugo Model 24/47 Mauser rifle in 8mm Mauser. These rifles are part of the same lineage as the famous K98 and Czech VZ-24 rifles. Both of those are considered two of the best bolt-action military rifles of all time. The Model 24/47 has all of the features of these that made them great like controlled round feeding, full-length extractor, extremely strong receiver ring and design, extremely strong locking lugs on the bolt with a short throw, and the ability of this line of rifles to be very accurate while also being supremely reliable in all condition, able to withstand all sorts of battle damage and abuse and function, and the ease of maintenance and repair with nearly total parts interchangeability. The Yugo Model 24/47 is essentially a rebuilt Model 1924 Mauser by Zastava in Yugoslovia. During WW2, the Royal Yugoslav Army was armed with M24 Mausers along with the Yugoslav Partisans. These forces and others fought with the M24 Mauser rifle until the end if the war. After the war ended, Yugoslavia decided to rebuild or rearsenal their inventory of M24s. This program began in 1947 and consisted of rebarreling the rifles with a 23.4" inch long barrel, replace any worn parts or broken parts, repair anything that could be repaired that would not degrade it's utility or reliability, and then pack them for long term storage. They remained there in storage until the late 1990's or early 2000's when they were sold off as surplus, many imported into the States. This example is as good as they get. It is in excellent condition both inside and out. All of the finish on the gun is 98% or better, the markings and stamps are all crisp and clear, the stock set is in perfect shape, the bore is immaculate, and the action is smooth, precise, and locks up perfectly. This Yugo 24/47 appears to have been factory test-fired, and perhaps had 10 to 20 rounds fired thru it since it left the factory. The internals are just as pristine as the exterior, showing ZERO wear to the metal parts. All of the controls on the rifle are in perfect working order. This Mauser 24/47 still has 99% of it's service life remaining in it, and should be an excellent addition to any collection as an investment or shooter. It would be extremely hard to find a better example than this in ANY respect. While you might find other examples of this model out there, only a small portion are FACTORY all-matching numbers and not re-numbered, and appear likely unfired since leaving the factory like this one.
