World War II Era TURKISH ANKARA Model 1903/38 8mm Caliber MAUSER Rifle C&R
Turkish Military INFANTRY Rifle
Description: World War II Era TURKISH ANKARA Model 1903/38 8mm Caliber MAUSER Rifle C&R Turkish Military INFANTRY Rifle Here we present a C&R Turkish Ankara Model 1903/38 Military Rifle made in Ankara, Turkey circa 1937. Many of the Turkish rifles were lumped together into a group called the Model of 1938, which wasn’t a single model, but rather a common set of features. The designation isn’t even one that the Turks used, but rather is a designation that U.S. importers used to describe these rifles. It is assumed that the Turkish military took whatever rifles that they had and converted them to this design. The most common of these rifles are the K. Kale marked rifles. The markings on this rifle are T.C. for Turkive Cumhuriveti, for Republic of Turkey. A.S.F.A. for Askari Fabrika, or Military Factory. ANK ARA for the city of manufacture. Though the Turks were neutral in World War II, they were courted by both the Allies and the Axis. But even with the courting, they stayed neutral to the end of the war. They gave refuge to both sides, giving refuge to the Germans that were escaping the Soviets in Bulgaria and Romania in 1944, and the Allies in Greece in late 1944 and early 1945. The overall condition is good. Robust action. Nice and bright bore. Solid stock with an average amount wear. The hand guard contains a stable crack on the top towards the breech. Sharp markings. “1937” dated barrel. “CAI” marked barrel. the numbers do not match on this example. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 29 inches. Caliber: 8mm Mauser Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1300 #217932 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
