RARE, NAZI MAUSER, G33/40, (DOT, WAFFENWERK BRUENN) MOUNTAIN CARBINE, 1943, CAL. 8MM, SER. 5034. THIS IS THE SCARCE ONE, SOMETIMES REFFERED TO AS THE SKI TROOPER CARBINE, OR ALPINE CARBINE. THE SHORTENED AND LIGHTENED CARBINE USED BY THE MOUNTAIN TROOPS. THE CONDITION IS REALLY QUITE NICE. IT HAS RETAINED ABOUT 55-60% OF THE ORIGINAL FACTORY FINISH. THE BULK OF THE LOSS IS JUST FROM HANDLING AND AGE TONING TO A SILVER GRAY PATINA. THERE IS NO RUST, RUB MARKS OR SCRATCHES. THE BOLT AND RECEIVER DO NOT MATCH BUT ARE IN FINE WORKING CONDITION. THE BOLT IS A CORRECT HOLLOWED BALL TYPE. THE SLIDE RAILS, BOLT FACE AND FEED RAMP DO NOT SHOW EXCESSIVE WEAR. THE BORE IS QUITE BRIGHT WITH SHARP WELL DEFINED RIFLING AND SOME SLIGHT SCATTERED FROST.
