Description:
The Portuguese Kar98s are one of the most sought-after and interesting of the Mauser family. Originally produced in Germany in 1937 for the Portuguese, they share many of the early war features found on Wehrmacht rifles. This example has a numbers-matching bolt, receiver, and magazine. Outside of that, we cannot confirm if the rifle stock and other minor parts match, but it is in excellent condition, with the exception of a chip on the rear sight leaf. The receiver is dated 1941 and sports the Portuguese Crest, which is a staple of these contract guns. All in all, over 60,000 of these contract guns were made, but only 50,000 of them went to their final destination. This firearm will be shipped to you at our expense. It will come with everything you see, as well as 15 rounds of East German surplus 8mm ammo and 13 rounds of German 8mm AP tracer ammo. This is an excellent choice for anyone’s Mauser collection.
