Guns International #: 102278982
Seller's Inventory #: R39100
SN: 477107. Swedish m/1896 Mauser-pattern rifle made by the Carl Gustaf factory. Receiver is dated 1919. Subtle CAI import mark between the barrel and cleaning rod. All parts match except the rear band. Bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling. Stock has several handling dents and some finish wear, but no cracks. Receiver, bolt and sight are in excellent condition with no visible rust or finish loss. Buttplate and magazine floorplates have been improperly cleaned of surface rust and are missing most of the finish, but there is no visible pitting or scale. Two small similarly mis-cleaned strips are visible on the top of the barrel, one of which shows some pitting. Barrel and barrel band also have some handling scratches near the front, but is otherwise in good condition. Buttstock has a strip of lost finish due to a piece of tape, and four small nail holes in a square pattern of unknown purpose behind the stock disk. Overall an excellent Swedish Mauser, in both attractive enough condition for a collection as well as being eminently shootable.
