Description: SCARCE MARLIN MODEL 62 LEVER ACTION RIFLE IN .256 WINCHESTER MAGNUM CALIBER, #31XX, ONLY MADE FROM 1963-1969. The Model 62 was made in .256 Win. Mag. and .30 Carbine. The latter .30 Carbine chambered rifles far outsold and out produced the short-lived .256 (which is simply the .357 Magnum case necked to .257 and can be formed fairly easily- I've done it for my T/C Contender without any forming dies. Just go slowly.). This rifle is in excellent condition and has the original magazine. Aside from a few of the lightest surface handling marks, it appears little used. Another limited production, hard to find Marlin that is rapidly going up in value.
