Description: Upon further research the prefix HS was added in 1932 and indicate that the rifle was approved for high speed ammo making this rifle manufactured between 1932 & 1936 the * indicated an exceptionally outstanding near perfect example as it left the factory, the early model 39 all came with a 24" octagon barrel and model 97 style lever UP FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION IS A MARLIN MODEL 39 HS * WHICH MEANS IT WILL TAKE THE HIGH SPEED AMMO AND THE STAR MEANING THAT EXTRA ATTENTION WAS GIVEN TO THE MANUFACTURING OF THESE RIFLES. THE PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES. THE RIFLE DOES COME WITH A SPECIAL ORDER FRONT SIGHT. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CASE COLORED 39'S THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED.
