Marlin Model 336W Carbine .30-30 Winchester Excellent Condition
Description: This is the quintessential deer hunting rifle. Marlin rifles have probably been used to hunt more deer than any other rifle, with the likely exception of the Winchester ’94. The Marlin 336 has been around since 1948, but the original Model 1936 and Model 36 go as far back as 1936 and 1937 respectively. The Model 336W uses a 20” micro-groove barrel and is chambered for the classic .30-30 Winchester cartridge. The rifle also features a finely made checkered wood stock and fore end. This example was produced by Remington after the purchased Marlin in the early 2000s. According to oldguns, a good place to look up both Marlin serial numbers and Remington barrel codes, this rifle was made in August of 2016 (WK stamp). At seven years of age, the rifle is hardly old compared to many of its fellow 336s. It is in excellent overall condition and exhibits only a small amount of wear, mainly with respect to the finish on the left-hand side of the receiver. However, you have to hold the rifle in the light at the correct angle to see it. Please see pictures 10 & 11. The bore is essentially spotless. A sleeved rubber pad has been added. This increases the length of pull from the usual 13.5 inches to 14.5 inches. Overall length has been increased from 38.5 inches to 39.375 inches. The original butt plate is still attached to the stock. Two weaver scope bases are attached to the receiver, so all the rifle needs is a pair of rings and a nice scope. There is no box but there is a soft case. SOLD Rifle Caliber: .30-30 Winchester Manufacturer: Marlin Firearms Co.
