Description:
This is a very nice Marlin model 27-S with the updated safety from post 1911, chambered for the 25-20 center fire cartridge.This gun is in excellent mechanical shape, but has a couple of convenient modifications that deter from an all original specimen. It has had sling lugs added, and 1 extra hole in the top of the receiver, (some of the model 27s have 3 factory holes). These have been utilized to facilitate the mounting of a scope rail (which is included in the purchase). The bore of the 24" barrel is in excellent condition, and all the script and other markings are nice and clear. The gun has the original and correct sight package as sent from the factory. All metal surfaces show strong blue at 85% or better, with the exception of a few tiny scattered rust spots, and some loss to the carry area. The stocks are quite nice, with only minor imperfections to the finish. They fit perfect to the tang and forearm, with no cracks or chips, as well as to the original steel crecent butt plate. Gun takes down and reassembles as it should, with a nice tight action that works flawlessly.
