Description: Marlin Model 1895G .45-70 Gov't lever action "Guide Gun", manufactured in 2001.**SOLD** This rifle features the classic Marlin 336-style lever action, with a straight walnut stock and rounded forend, with nicely cut checkering in the grip areas. The receiver and barrel have a rich blue finish. The "Guide Gun"" configuration is essentially a short, handy, big-bore lever rifle, ideal for hunting guides in areas with big, potentially dangerous game or other dangerous wildlife. Marlin's adaptation has a ported barrel, which helps keep the bore level after the shot, allowing for quick follow-up shots, if needed. This particular rifle is fitted with a Millett DMS-1 1-4x24 Low-Power Variable Optic, which is great for quick target aquisition at 1x, and more accurate shots out to 4x. The scope has an illumination setting as well. The rifle is in great condition with some signs of light use, as shown. Please refer to the photos to further assess the condition of the rifle.
