Marlin Model 1894 Rifle, Cal. .44-40, 1899 Vintage, 24 Inch Octagon Barrel
Description: Marlin Model 1894 Rifle fitted with a 24 inch octagon barrel, full tube magazine, walnut forearm and straight grip stock with steel crescent butt-plate, period correct open sights, factory drilled and tapped upper tang with "MODEL 1894" stamping, and chambered in .44 W. (.44-40 Winchester). This 1899 vintage Model 1894 is in very good condition, with the barrel, tube magazine, bolt, and receiver retaining 10% of their original blue, with the rest turing a blue grey patina. The hammer retains traces of its original color case hardened finish and the lever and butt-plate have lost all of their finishes and turned a blue grey patina. The bore is bright, but there is spotting throughout the bore. The action functions perfectly and the lever locks into place almost like new. The stock and forearm appear to having been lightly sanded and than refinished. Would make for a great "Cowby Action" rifle, plinker or "wall hanger".
