Model 338MXLR 338 Express Stainless Laminated Lever Action Made In 2008. This Marlin Express Long Rifle model 338MXLR is a very hard to find rifle and one of the first ones made. This one was purchased new and taken on three successful Moose hunts then put away in a gun safe until now. The left side of the barrel is marked “338MXLR”, “THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / * * * * MODEL 338MXLR – CAL. 338 MARLIN EXPRESS * * * *”. The left side of the barrel at the receiver is marked with the “JM” proof. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number “92217009”. The right side of the barrel is marked with the Marlin warning. The rifle features a 24 inch barrel that has an excellent bore with no issues. The stainless finish is in excellent condition. The barrel shows a few discoloration spots near the muzzle as shown. The receiver has a few minor surface marks that really don’t show up in the pictures. Both stocks are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The checkering panels are also in excellent condition as you can see. It has the sights and the hammer extension as shown. On top is a Weaver scope mount and rings. Mounted in the rings is a Leupold VX-1 4-12x40mm scope with the “LR” duplex reticle. The scope is covered by the Leupold Lifetime Warranty and is in excellent condition inside and out. Overall this complete package is in excellent condition that will make for an excellent investment. There are two boxes of factory ammunition that go with the gun. Many of our estate firearms have been stored for some time and a thorough cleaning and inspection are recommended. This will be shipped fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL for $65. This rifle will be shipped in a double walled foam lined cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe. Payment to be made by USPS Money Order or Cashier’s Check.
