1995 Marlin Model 9 Camp Carbine 9mm w/ Weaver Classic V-Series 2.5-7X32mm Scope SOLD
Description: This is as nice a Marlin Model 9 Camp Carbine as we have had for years. The Marlin Model 9 Camp Carbine chambered in 9mm was introduced in 1985 and manufactured for 14 years until being discontinued in 1999. This semi-auto carbine featured a 16.5" inch barrel with a hi-viz orange front sight and cut-away sight hood and a sand-blasted steel receiver, with a 12-shot detachable box magazine and a last-round hold open on the bolt. The double-stack magazine was shared with the Smith & Wesson Model 59 pistol and is interchangeable. Designed as a multi-purpose carbine that could be used for plinking, hunting, and self-defense, the Marlin Model 9 earned a reputation for being reliable and durable. The longer barrel combined with 9mm pistol ammo really maximized the velocity of the cartridge, and makes +P ammo quite deadly. This particular example is serial number 05568785 and was made in 1995 (subtract the 1st 2 digits of the serial number from 100). It is in excellent original condition and appears to have spent the vast majority of it's life in storage. The factory blue finish rates 98 to 99%, with no finish wear visible and only one tiny scratch on the receiver just ahead of the serial number on the left side. The scratch is only visible under close inspection and does not detract from this Marlin's pristine look. The bore is minty and bright, with sharp lands and grooves in the rifling and no pitting, erosion, or imperfections visible whatsoever. The original hardwood stock is also in excellent condition. The original wood finish still looks like-new and there is no wear, cracks, or repairs on the stock. The only detraction from the stock being perfect is visible around the factory sling swivel studs, there are some small indentions where swivels were installed at some point that made contact with the stock. The stock has a factory installed Marlin-branded recoil pad on it that pulls 14" inches to the end of the pad. The pad is in excellent condition and is still perfectly tight to the wood. Everything on this Marlin Model 9 Camp Carbine works 100% like the day it left the factory. The action is smooth and functions perfectly. All of the controls work as they were designed to. The internals look as new as the exterior on this carbine. This Marlin Model 9 comes with one factory 12-round magazine. The magazine looks like-new with perfect feed lips and a strong follower spring. This Camp Carbine also comes complete with a very nice Weaver Classic V-Series 2.5-7X33mm scope with Butler Creek flip-up covers mounted on Weaver bases and rings also in excellent, "like-new" condition. The optics are bright and clear and the reticle is a standard heavy duplex. Both the objective lens and ocular lens are perfect with no scratches, chips, or coating issues. All of the controls work like-new on this scope. The power adjusting ring turns smoothly, and both the elevation and windage adjustments work perfectly and have the protective caps in-place. From what we can find online the scope by itself without bases, rings, or lens covers costs nearly $200. If you have been looking for a pristine Marlin Model 9 Camp Carbine for your collection you would be hard-pressed to find a better example than this one. These carbines were often used hard, and most examples on the market show significant wear. Priced at $650, it is a bargain when you consider the value of the carbine and the optics already mounted on it. **** 3-15rd magazines and 1-20rd magazine for this Marlin Model 9 are available at additional cost upon request SOLD Manufacturer: Marlin Model: Model 9 Camp Carbine Serial Number: 05568785 Caliber Info: 9mm Bore: Minty Condition: Excellent Barrels: 16.5" Inches Action: Semi-auto LOP: 14" Inches Weight: 7 lbs 11 oz w/ scope Manufacture Date: 1990 Extras: Weaver Classic V-Series 2.5-7X33mm Scope and Mounts |
