SCARCE Peanut Grip Marlin Model 39A 22LR Made 1951
Description: Marlin Model 39A in caliber 22 short/long/long rifle, 24" round barrel with Ballard-style rifling, blued finish including trigger, plain walnut stocks, plain pistol grip with scarce "peanut grip" cap that has the brass insert and is initialed "DAW" for the initials of the original buyer, open sights, Marlin logo butt plate, white line spacers and trademark "Bullseye" in the toe line of the butt, take down frame, lever action, receiver factory drilled and tapped for several types of receiver sights, tube-fed magazine. The peanut grip version was made for only two years, 1951 and 1952. This one has an "H" prefix, so it is 1951/first year for this variation. Firearm is 95% overall with just a few nicks and scratches to the stocks, very slight looseness to the fore arm from drying out over 70+ years, no splits or cracks, butter-smooth action with properly-working half-cock safety, correct open sights with hood intact, mint bore, tight takedown with no wobble, mag tube locks up tightly, slight freckling to the bluing on the barrel (looks worse in the digital pictures than it does in the natural light). A scarce variation that is a must-have for the Marlin and/or lever action collector. No international sales. No sales to Alaska and Hawaii. I am registered with the California DOJ so CA buyers are welcome. Must ship to FFL or C&R license holder (SALES TO NEW YORK STATE BUYERS REQUIRE FFL ONLY, NO EXEPTIONS). Payment by personal check, bank check or postal money order (sorry no credit cards). 3-day, non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Should be checked by a qualified gunsmith before firing! Packed with care and shipped FedEx Ground with tracking for a flat $40 fee.
