PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT !!!! Wow...these (mounties) are by a long stretch out favorite Malin 39a's and this gem is a 2d year production (1954)
Mouties are to us the most handsome of these exceptional take down beauties. Takes down wiith a single thumb screw for cleaning or safe transport. Most 39's have pistol grip stocks and 24" barrels but the Mounties are distinquished by their distinct straight stock and 20" carbine barrel and overall lenght of 36" approx. This exceptional unmolested example is almost completley free of handling marks with just a little wear on the lever. Bonus is the excellent Lyman peep installed in factory holes (Although this one like many that were sold by Sears were specked with holes for a Weaver side mount ) in lieu of the use of a scope the lyman was added ...the rear site removed and replaced with a blank so as not to interfere with the sight picture when used with the far better (than open sight) lyman. The Marlin bulleye on the underside of the butt stock is still in place (many have fallen out over time) Most of the screws are perfect, the handsome American walnut stocks are almost entiresly un marred ...!!!
