These earliest first year Marlin 1895's have deep and wide groove Ballard rifling for shooting any kind of bullets. They have a unique wide cresent butt design to help with recoil. This unique straight grip and uncheckered stock is only found on these first year rifles. It is American black walnut with original varnish. Solid with just a very few and minor handling marks.The front and rear sights are original. The bore is mirror bright with deep Ballard rifling.
