Mannlicher Schoenauer Carbine, Cal. 6.5 x 54MS **Classic Vintage European Hunting Rifle**
Description: This 1903 Mannlicher Schoenauer Carbine is chambered in the famous 6.5 x 54MS. This rifle and caliber was a favorite of famous Scottish adventurer, soldier, and Professional Hunter W. D. M. "Karamojo" Bell. Bell used this exact model on many Elephant hunts in East Africa due to its light weight and ability to make quick follow up shots. Bell used the brain shot extensively, with his intention being to kill his quarry quickly before the herd became restless or took flight. He mastered a quartering shot from the rear which was angled through the neck muscles and into the brain. This difficult shot has become known as "The Bell Shot" on elephants. This classic European hunting rifle features a full length stock, double set triggers, 17-3/4" barrel, and has an outstanding bore. Model 1903's in this condition are seldom seen and this one should make a great addition to any collection.
