KIMBER Model 8400 Classic 270 WSM Winchester Short Magnum
Description: This listing is for a used Kimber Model 8400 chambered in caliber 270WSM. The scoped rifle is in very good overall condition. The Kimber 8400's would make someone an ideal hunting rifle. It is light enough, 7 lbs 10 oz, for long days in the field, yet full sized and stout enough to make for steady shot placement. The 270 WSM has the attributes that made the regular 270 Winchester so popular but adds more range and knockdown power. Some of the attributes of this Kimber are; Great looking figured walnut stock. 24" barrel to get maximum velocity from the 270 WSM cartridge. The 24" barrel has a light weight contour to hold weight down. Mauser inspired controlled round system assuring positive cartridge feeding and extraction. Model 70 style 3 position safety which locks the striker/firing pin, not just the trigger as in most other type safeties. Steel bottom metal including a quick release hinged floor plate. Steel pistol grip cap. Factory installed recoil pad and sling swivel studs. The rifle is equipped with Kimber steel scope mounting bases & rings along with a 4 power Leupold M8 riflescope. The scope has Leupold's popular Duplex reticle (cross hairs). The rifle's metal components, steel bases & rings and Leupold scope are all finished in satin blue. As stated the rifle's condition is very good. There is no rust, significant blue wear, splits, cracks or significant dents. There is one safe-handling scratch on the stock. I worked at getting photos, 8 & 9, which show this scratch. These two photos were taken with lighting and camera angle that show the scratch at its worst. When one handles the rifle in normal daylight the scratch does not stand out as it does in these two photos. The scratch is there, is not deep and does not significantly take away from the nice figure of the walnut stock. No one likes surprises, so I am furnishing photos which make the scratch appear worse than it actually is. I have used the Kimber for casual target practice at a nearby rifle range. I have never hunted with the rifle nor exposed it to rain or snow. I believe viewing the photos will reveal a high quality and well cared for rifle. It is the buyers responsibility to assure receiving a bolt action rifle is legal in his state and local area. Further, the buyer must furnish me with a copy of the dealer's FFL who will be receiving and handling the gun transfer. I am a private party. You will need to be sure your FFL holder accepts shipments from a private party. Do not fail to cover this issue with your FFL, for the last thing you want is a gun delivered to your FFL holder who can not, or will not, transfer the rifle to you. Any and all requirements of this FFL holder which affect me (the shipper) need to be communicated to me before the rifle is packaged for shipment. For shipment the rifle & scope will be securely boxed in a heavy cardboard shipping carton. The flat rate shipping charge is $75.00 to the lower contiguous 47 states. No sales to CA. The $75 shipping charge will include insurance through the delivering carrier against loss or any shipping damage. I am a private party. I am not a gun dealer nor an amateur gun trader. As such I am not set up to take credit cards, PayPal, personal checks, lay-aways, etc. I accept USPS Money Orders, other Money Orders and Bank Cashier's Checks for payment. Shipment will be made very promptly for Postal Money Orders. Other forms of Money Orders and Bank checks may take a few days longer to clear my bank. Personal or business checks will not be accepted. A "no shooting" and "no disassembly" 3 day from date of delivery to your FFL holder inspection period applies. If the rifle is sent back the initial shipping & insurance charge will not be returned. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Email works best as hearing loss incurred over time on my end make telephone conversations difficult for both parties. Thank you for looking at the listing.
