CASED HOLLAND AND HOLLAND CUSTOM No. 2 HAMMERLESS EJECTOR DOUBLE RIFLE IN.375 H&H FLANGED MAGNUM
Description: 26 inch steel barrels with matted quarter rib. Rear express sight with standing sight marked "50 200" and folding leaf marked "350". Matted ramp front with folding moon sight. Top of right barrel reads "MADE IN ENGLAND BY HOLLAND & HOLLAND" and top of left barrel reads "98 NEW BOND STREET, LONDON". Engraved barrel panels of well cut scrolls and oak leaves. Underside of barrels marked "VICKERS" on one tube, "STEEL" on the other. Barrel flats with London nitro proofs. Barrels retain a considerable amount of blackening. Bright bores with sharp rifling. Action has several great game scenes likely done later in the US in the style of Kornbrath. Case colored back action sidelock ejector and double triggers. Engraved trigger guard and metal pistol grip cap. Maker's name on both lockplates. “HOLLAND’S/.375 BORE/ MAGNUM CARTRIDGE” on bottom of frame. Gold inlaid florals on fences and gold line cocking indicators. Straight grain walnut stock with shadowline cheekpiece and an oval engraved "TNW" that matches the case. LOP 14-1/2 inches. DOH 2-1/2 inches. Weight is 10 pounds 2 ounces. Engraved steel skeleton buttplate and splinter forend. Complete with a leather case that has brass corners, "T.N. WOOD / WILKES - BARRE / PENNA" on lid, and Holland and Holland case label inside the lid. Accessories include a pair of snap caps, oil bottle marked for Abercrombie & Fitch, hooded sight cover, three piece cleaning rod and a striker pot. The engraving on this is just incredible and will be a center piece for someone's collection.
