Henry Rifle 1860, 1866 Vintage, Cal. .44 RF

Description:
Caliber 44 Henry Rim Fire.  The serial number 12784 places build date in 1866.  Original 24 inch octagon barrel with integral magazine tube, nickel silver blade front sight and folding ladder rear sight with elevator bar.  Barrel has traces of blue in protected areas with the balance being a gray patina.  Receiver and buttplate are a good aged brass patina, with numerous handling marks, but no evidence of having ever being polished.  Small "W" inspection mark used by Oliver Winchester is located on the lower tang behind the lever latch.  The original case hardened finished hammer and lever have turned a brown patina.  Sling swivel on the stock and sling loop on barrel are standard features of the late production Henry rifles.  The wood stock is in poor condition, having been sanded and has one large chip at the upper tang and a couple of cracks.  The bore is shootable, with visible rifling, but corrosion spotting throughout.  The action operates as-designed, 100% functional.  This would make a great addition to any antique gun collection.                                                  PRICE:   SOLD        We are Antique & Modern Firearms in Lexington, KY, dealer of fine firearms since 1974.                    PH. 859-276-1419         We Buy, Sell and Trade Firearms & Knives.    Have a Individual Firearm,  Firearms Collection, or Firearms Estate to sell, let us know, we can buy or consignment sell it for you.                   NOTE:  No additional fee for a Credit Card payment.
