** SOLD ** Rare Pre-Ban FN Herstal FNC Paratrooper Rifle Chambered in .223 Remington Caliber w/ 18.5" Barrel **Folding Stock Paratrooper Model**

Description:
Here we have a very nice FN Herstal FNC rifle chambered in .223 Remington caliber. The FNC (French: Fabrique Nationale Carabine) is a 5.56×45mm NATO assault rifle developed by the Belgian arms manufacturer FN Herstal and introduced in the late 1970s. The FNC is a semi automatic rifle that uses a gas-operated long-stroke piston system and a rotating bolt locking mechanism equipped with two locking lugs that engage corresponding recesses in the barrel extension. The bolt is rotated and unlocked by the interaction of the bolt's cam pin with a camming guide contained in the bolt carrier.  It is a very reliable and well-made weapon system that incorporates an adjustable 2-position gas system as well as an integrated grenade launching front-sight that cuts off the gas system when flipped up. FN decided to market a semi-auto only version for commercial sales in the 1980's, and small numbers were imported into the United States until 1987 when it was discontinued. This particular example is in outstanding condition and looks like it has been handled very little and used even less. This highly desirable version of the FNC would make an outstanding addition to a collection of military style rifles or a great start to a new collection. One FN branded 30 round magazine is provided with the rifle.
