Description: #16903 Thomas Bland & Sons 375 NE 2 ½” Ejectors.
Made in London in 1914 , a rifle with 26” barrels with shoe lump, proofed for 40 gr of cordite and a 300 Gr bullet . ¼ rib with express sight on standing and two folding, regulated for a 320 Gr bullet. It was featured in Double Gun Journal, volume 13, issue 2 of Summer 2002.
Nicely shaped front ramp with a silver bead. Rib is Marked “ Winners of the American rifle trials of 1885”. Blacking is in 65% of original condition, bores and chambers a shiny and the rifling is crisp. RMR sight ready.
A very strong scalloped action, with side clip, dolls head and a large third bolt. Other nice features include firing pin obturator discs, bolted automatic safety. In great mechanical condition, the rifle weighs 9 Lbs. 3Oz. There are traces of the original case hardening colors, floor plate has 65 % of original charcoal black, all tastefully border engraved . Forend has an Anson button release and a Deeley ejector type box. Stock is solid with a 14 5/16” LOP over a steel butt plate with spur, Tear drop panels, round knob pistol grip and flat top checkering. The wood displays the wear one can expect after over 100 years of service, but remains in 75% of original condition with dents, scratches and a broken corner of the left side of the forend.
