An English made boxlock double rifle chambered for the .450/400 Nitro Express 3" cartridge. It has 26” blacked steel chopper lump rifled nitro proofed barrels fit with ejectors, doll's head third fastener, quarter rib which is file cut and concave, lined express rear sights - 1 standing sight being unmarked and 2 folding leaf sights regulated for 200 and 300 yards. Rib is also fit with a German claw mount which a Swarovski 1.25-4x25 Habicht Scope is fitted. File cut ramp tipped blade. Top of the right barrel is roll marked "HARRISON & HUSSEY LTD." while the top of the left barrel is roll marked "7 BURRY STREET ST JAMES'S LONDON ENGLAND". Bottom of each barrel roll marked: "- FLUSSSTAHL - KRUPP - ESSEN -", serial number, "BP" in script with crown over and the initials "L.C". Barrels flats stamped with London proofs, "CORDITE 55-400 MAX". The Grey silvered patina boxlock action is engraved with light border scrolls and "HARRISON & HUSSEY LTD" is engraved on both sides of the action body. The action is fit with disc set strikers, automatic safety with "SAFE" in gold ahead of the engraved and checkered slide safe, double triggers protected by a blacked border scroll engraved trigger guard that extends to a full length bottom strap which is engraved with border scrolls and the serial number. Honey colored walnut stock with some fiddleback and marbling at butt. Fine checkered pistol grip. Grip with horn grip cap. Loop for sling, Vacant stock oval, Splinter fore-end with Anson style push button release and engraved escutcheon, 14-5/8” LOP over a 1" dark orange rubber recoil pad, 11 Lbs. - 5 Oz. With Scope & 10 Lbs. - 3 Oz. Without Scope. Rifle resides in vintage oak & leather case with paper "STEPHEN GRANT & JOSEPH LANG LTD" trade label and vacant charge card. Case with oil bottle, single Heym snap cap, front sight hood(s), scope cover and key for case. Exterior case lid with round brass disc and is stamped above "PERCY T. CRUBB".
