Description: 28" RIFLE BARRELS & 32" SHOTGUN BARRELS, FULL RIBS, STANDING FIXED SIGHT-RIFLE BARRELS & FRONT BEAD-SHOTGUN BARRESL,, DOUBLE TRIGGERS, SCROLL ENGRAVING, STRAIGHT HAND GRIP, 13-7/8" LOP, RECOIL PLATE, 10 LBS - 14 OZ-RIFLE BARRELS, 7 LBS - 12 OZ.-SHOTGUN BARRELS A London best antique English made combination hammer safari rifle and game shotgun with 2 sets of dovetail Damascus steel barrels. Both sets of barrels are built for black powder and extractors. The 28" rifle barrels are are chambered for the .577-500 No. 2 BPE cartridge. The right barrel is roll marked "CONSTRUCTED BY," while the left barrel is roll marked "MESSRS GYE & MONCRIEFF, ST JAMES'S ST, LONDON." and are built with a finely filed flat top rib with a standing fixed rear sight with a platinum triangle marker and fire blued silver tipped front blade sight. Bottoms of the .577-500 barrels read "HENRY'S PATENT", "A&T", "3847", "3848" and the serial number. Barrel flats stamped with London proofs and '39". The 32" shotgun barrels are chambered for 12 gauge and have 2-1/2" chambers with a smooth rib, rib with round front bead sight and reads "CONSTRUCTED BY MESSRS GYE & MONCRIEFF, ST JAMES'S ST, LONDON. Top of the rib has been plugged. Bottom of the barrels with the gun's serial number. Barrel flats stamped with London proofs and "12". The coin finished back action is engraved with fine English Arabesque scrolls throughout and "CONSTRUCTED BY MESSRS GYE & MONCRIEFF LONDON" is engraved on both lockplates. The action is fit with peninsula locks, rebounding hammers, double triggers protected by an engraved trigger guard and an engraved full length bottom strap with the serial number. The top lever is engraved "SOLID SELF LOCKING VERTICAL GRIP". The action flats have inside an oval "PATENT No 324 1870" with "550" (patent use number). Reddish-Brown straight grain walnut stock with traditional straight hand grip with English flat checkered grip has as vacant stock oval and loop for sling. Left side of the buttstock has an inlaid brass oval engraved "DR. SHORB." Stock has a 13-7/8" LOP and is finished to a hard rubber plate. Matching splinter fore-ends with scroll engraved Deeley lever releases and horn insets at the tips. Exterior fore-end iron metal is scroll engraved. When the .577-500 barrels are fitted the weight is 10 Lbs. - 14 Oz. while it weighs 7 Lbs. - 10 Oz. with the 12 gauge barrels fitted. The rifle/shotgun combination resides in a two-tiered oak & leather case with a complete set of cleaning and reloading implements for both rifle and shotgun barrels. Included are a paper patch 300-grain bullet mold and the hollow point pin, adjustable powder and shot measures (3 drams of powder for the shotgun and 5 drams for the rifle and one once of shot), and a trim tool for paper shotshells. Also included are a striker key, chamber brush, turnscrews, reloading dies for the rifle cartridges and two cleaning rods, tips, jags, brushes and oil.
