Greener 8 Bore Double Hammer Rifle, produced in 1892, is a true masterpiece from one of England’s most renowned gunmakers. It features a 24" double barrel with an 8-bore chambering, delivering massive firepower suited for large and dangerous game. The gun is in fine condition, having been professionally refinished in London to high standards. The blued barrels retain most of their color, although the signature and engraving are slightly worn, a testament to the rifle’s storied history. The action and locks feature renewed case hardening, with engraving still crisp and clear. The checkered walnut stock, though showing some handling marks and a small chip behind the left lockplate, has been refinished with care and maintains a generally well-defined checkering pattern. This rifle's top lever, back-action hammer locks, and treble wedge fast action are all classic features of a Greener firearm. The barrels are engraved with foliage near the breech and the rib extension is beautifully scroll-engraved. The broad, raised solid rib is designed with standing express rear sights for 50 yards and folding leaves for 100 and 150 yards, inlaid with platinum and gold for quick sighting in hunting scenarios.
