The DDM4A1 is one of Daniel Defense’s top AR-15 models, and one of the most highly sought after AR-15 rifles period. The rifle comes standard with Daniel Defense’s own adjustable stock, pistol grip, forearm, and flash hider. The DDM4A1 is one of Daniel Defense’s top AR-15 models, and one of the most highly sought after AR-15 rifles period. The rifle comes standard with Daniel Defense’s own adjustable stock, pistol grip, forearm, and flash hider. The stock and pistol grip are made of glass-filled polymer and have soft-touch over-molding. The fore end is the famous RIS II picatinny quad rail, which has been in use by US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) since 2005 as part of the SOPMOD Block II program. The hammer-forged 14.5” M4-profile barrel has a permanently attached Daniel Defense Flash Suppressor to meet the overall-16”-length legal requirement, making the DDM4A1 fully legal. A tax stamp is NOT required to own one of these rifles. The bore is chrome-lined with a 1:7-inch twist for stabilizing even the heaviest .223 bullets. The rifle uses a carbine-length gas system with the low-profile gas block being made of 4140 hardened steel and having a Mil-Spec heavy phosphate coating for resistance against the elements. This is especially important since the gas block is covered to some extent by the fore end, requiring the user to remove it to fully clean the gas block. This may not always be possible depending on the situation, so the highly resistant coating helps. The flash hider is manufactured from 17-4 PH stainless steel and has a salt bath nitride finish.
