fantastic 50 cal hawkins percussion plains rifle built in the 60's by new york premier rifle maker James H Tawney. AAA fancy curly / birdseye maple with beaded cheek piece. all stock hardware except lock is silver and materfully hand engraved by the builder32 inch barrel with 1 in 48 twist. rifle weight is 8 pounds.the rifle has been test fired for accuracy and have shot several sub 1 inch 3 shot groups at 50 yards fron a bench and sandbags using Pyrodex powder, round balls with poly patch, the standard nipple was replaced with a water tight screw top nipple that uses small pistol primers for much better ignition that does not missfire even in the rain. the rifle is in like new condition with perfect bore,metal, wood and engraving.been in my gun safe for over 40 years. starting to sell some guns bcause of my age and health.no FFL required. if you demand the very best tnen don't miss this beautiful rifle.
