Colt Burgess Model 1883 Rifle Chambered in 44-40 WCF , This is rare model, serial numbered 4112. Made circa 1884 with a 25-½" octagonal barrel. Nice sharp gun that retains most all of its original blue finish on the barrel and magazine tube. The receiver still has some blue in the protected areas with the balance a smooth gray patina. All markings are visible. The mechanics are in good working order. The bore is bright and sharp with mild frosting present throughout. The stock and forend have been lightly refisnished at some point. The wood still sits pround in most areas where it meets the metal.The Colt-Burgess Rifle had a very short production run of just 6403 guns produced in all variations, making these exceedingly rare. In the nearly 50 years we have been in business, we have only had one other for sale. Don't miss your chance at a true Old West collectible!
