Colt LE6922 Law Enforcement Carbine With Rare 1/9 Twist Barrel - Limited Production Run
Description: The barrel date is 07/00 (July of 2000) and Colt reports that the shipping date based on the serial number was 2001. The 6922 was initially based on the 6920, except that the 16 inch barrel was rifled 1/9 instead of the 1/7 of the 6920. At the time, it was available to anyone that could legally buy it, but catered mostly to police departments. The volume of production was not high, lasting only a few years before demand resulted in a cessation of production. Some of these, not many, were offered to the public by Specialized Armament Warehouse as uppers, as this one is, and then fitted with a serial numbered lower that closely matches the barrel date on the upper. Please note that the stock is an N1 marked third generation stock because the waffle stock didn't come into use until 2003, and the BCG is a "half moon" type with a full shroud over the firing pin because the "full auto" type wasn't approved by ATF for use in semi automatic ARs until 2005. The 1/9 twist rate gives some versatility to the shooter, from the 55 grain up to about 75 grain, depending on velocity. The versatility of bullet weights can also lead to the accuracy that budget-minded police departments require, and hand loaders look for. The rifle is in excellent condition overall, with only a minimum of signs of use confined to the lower. These are scarcely seen, even as agency turn-ins, due to their M4 reliability. Please view the photos, they are an integral part of this description. LAYAWAYS: Layaway Terms: We offer layaway on most items for a 90-day period. Items exceeding $2,000.00 are offered a 120-day period. The terms require a minimum non-refundable down payment of 20% with no required payment plan for the remaining balance.
