The full 3 band dark walnut stock is in good condition with many dents,scratches, dings and a large chip in the ramrod chanel as well as burnout behind the hammer as you would expect from a hard used civil war era musket. The full 42 inch barrel is dark brown with some pitting near the nipple. All other parts are also dark brown also. The Model 1842's were much used during the civil war. This old musket is complete and original but the ramrod although correct has been shortened to 28,5"s Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
