Springfield 1851 Cadet rifle

Description:
An original Springfield Armory 1851 dated Cadet musker in .57 cal. smooth bore and many were used in the Civiil War by Confederate states tht had a strong need for firearms. With a 40" eound barrel and decent bore where it is shiny near the breech and some fouling along the length, but would clean-up much better. The lock well marked and works well. Comes with all three barrel bands and a steel ram-rod. The barrel tang dated 1851, and the length of the barrel is fine salt and pepper pitting the entire length like this gun had sea service issue. The bands and lock are aall clean and free of any pitting. Teh American walnut stock is complete and dark with age. Overall a well used Civil War era musket.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
