Description:
US Model 1842 Harpers Ferry 69 caliber musket dated 1846. This is a early date, these muskets were used in both the Mexican and Civil war. The full 3 band dark walnut stock is in good condition. The full 42" barrel is a grey brown with pitting. The functioning lock is brown and marked Harpers Ferry 1846. The musket functions and is complete with sling swivels and Ramrod. The but plate is marked US and there is a correct original US marked bayonet available for 100 dollars if interested. A great piece of US military history at a modest price.
