1862 Enfield Two Band Confederate

Description:
Most  likely used by the Confederate military, this dated 1862 Enfield with some English proofs on the left side of the breech, with a 30" barrel with a  bore of .577cal. , and good rifling and a path of corroaion half way down. Action works good and the exterior metal on the barrel has fine pin prickpits in patches and near the breech, and dark colored metal.. A field repair on the stock about 19" down from the muzzle. A ram-rod that is clean and maybe has been cleaned or newer made. Brass butt-plate and iron barrel bands.Dark English walnut stock that is complete, and the brass nose cap looks like a maybe Brown Bess that was machined down to fit an Enfield. A very colorful 19th century Enfield 1862 rifle. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith  before  shooting.
