NSN, .58 caliber, 36"" round barrel circa 1863 U.S. Springfield model 1863 civil war era musket converted into a two-band rifle. Metal is a dark brown patina with surface oxidation noted. Wood shows dings, scratches and marring noted. Action functions correctly, lock is dated 1863 and nipple has been flattened for dry firing
