Civil War Spencer Cavalry Carbine
Description: Serial #45571, .52 Spencer RF, 22" barrel with a fair, six-groove bore that has light freckling and pitting within the grooves. This carbine has an overall mottled gray and plum-brown patina that has some mild pitting along the top of the barrel, and on the frame. Original blue is still present on the barrel band, as well as a few protected spots on the barrel. The walnut forend and buttstock have been lightly sanded and revarnished with scattered light-moderate bruises and marks throughout, as well as a small chip at the toe of the butt, and around the added sling swivel on the belly. The faint ghost of a cartouche is still visible behind the sling bar. The magazine tube is in very good shape with a functional spring and follower and the mechanism is still tight and fully functional. This is an about good-very good Civil War Spencer overall.
