If you have been looking for a nice lightly used Belgian Browning BAR for your collection or for shooting purposes this rifle would be an excellent choice. This Belgian made classic is considered one of the finest semi-auto rifle designs ever devised. The BAR quickly earned a reputation for being very well-made, very attractive in design, reliable, and a supremely accurate rifle regardless of the type of action. This particular example chambered in .30-06 Springfield is a very attractive rifle with just some light exterior finish wear but pristine internals. This BAR has obviously been carried afield a few times over the last 51 years but actually has been fired very very little. The original gloss blue finish is in excellent conditino with some high edge wear but rates +95%. The original black finish on the alloy triggerguard and magazine floorplate is in beautiful condition and rates 95% with only a few very tiny chips in it. The original factory gloss blue finish on the barrel is nearly perfect, rating 97%. This Browning BAR has a 22" inch barrel with a perfect bore and the factory iron sights are still intact, including the front sight hood, and in perfect working order. The rifling still has nice sharp lands and grooves, and there is no visible pitting, erosion, or imperfections of any kind. The original Walnut stock set with hand-cut checkering is in excellent condition overall. The checkering is still clean and crisp, and both the forearm and buttstock are completely free from cracks, chips, or repairs. The factory installed sling swivel studs are in great shape, and the butt features a Pachmayr White Line pad. The length of pull on this BAR is 14 inches to the end of the buttplate. Intealled on the rifle is a Buchnell Banner II 3-9x40 variable power scope.
