Gorgeous Funken Signed 1958 Belgian Browning SA22 Wheelsight Grade III .22lr
Description: Gorgeous Belgium made SA-22 signed by FN and Browning's Chief engraver Felix Funken. The receiver is a stunning piece to behold, very well executed engraving with the original coin finish still presenting very well. The wood is also gorgeous but I am not certain on the originality of the finish, it is a slightly duller oil than I'm used to seeing compared to the "Shrink wrapped" or "Paper thin" glossy finish where the pores of the wood would turn a yellow color over time. It doesn't show any egregious signs of refinishing but I won't claim that it is original. The rear sight was removed in favor of a period Williams scope mount that was engraved to match the receiver with a Leupold M8-4X Compact scope currently installed. This gun is extremely attractive, very hard to improve on even with the wood finish in question. There is one scratch on the left side of the stock and a few light dings in the toe of the stock, outside of that the rifle is near mint! Vintage firearms are a passion of mine.
