SOLD is a very tastefully upgraded Fabrique Nationale pump action "Trombone" rifle by Master Engraver Angelo Bee!
This specific example of Angelo's work has a number of features that make it a stand out example, the first I will cover is the engraving. The gold work on this piece is very crisp and without detraction, the bust of John Browning on the right side is accurately shaped and finely detailed which is often difficult to execute with engraving, especially gold inlay! The FN logo on the right follows suit and is without ragged edges or any other imperfections to distract from how nice the overall scene is. The lettering in the banner is consistent, centered, and the scrollwork bordering logo and receiver is quite an elegant touch. The Great Horned Owl on the top of the frame is also well shaded and accurately shaped! The engraving is finished off with some scattered scrollwork on the bottom of the frame and trigger gaurd, along with Angelo's signature gold bands on the barrel.
Next is the wood, stocked with a quality figured set of oil finished walnut. The figure of the stock is subtle but very attractive, it has an overall brown tone that is blessed with some very dark swirling wood grain as well as a few scattered knots on both the left and right side! You'll also notice that the wood fitment is quite tight and without gaps which are often seen on these high grade stocked guns. Lastly, instead of a regular butt plate, this rifle features a checkered butt insert with engraved screws (in the forearm as well).
Lastly, included is an original Browning Custom Shop case to house and display the rifle! These cases were manufactured in Italy and imported by Browning for their limited production custom shop guns, they are not easy to find and this one is in exceptional condition with its original hang tag still attached.
All of these features combined make for an extremely elegant rifle that would be very difficult to improve upon in any regard. A true masterpiece, executed by one of the most revered engravers of the last 50 years as well as an original Belgian engraver for Browning, Angelo Bee!
