W.W. Wetmore – Under Hammer – Target Rifle – 40 caliber – Percussion – Stk# P-24-82

This W.W. Wetmore half stock under hammer percussion heavy 40 caliber target rifle has a false muzzle and custom short starter. It has a browned heavy weight 32” x 1-7/16” straight octagon barrel with 1:32 twist with a custom rear peep sight and a dot globe front sight. WW Whitmore Lebanon, NH is stamped on the top flat of the barrel. The metal and finish are in fair condition with minor pitting next to the nipple and nicks and scratches throughout. The bore is in very good condition with clean sharp flat bottom rifling. The Walnut butt stock is mounted with steel furniture and has German silver inlays, one on each side. The butt stock is in good condition with a repaired crack through the wrist and usage marks. The forend or shooting stand is missing; the barrel still has the dovetailed threaded under lug for the forend/barrel stand. The under hammer action is activated by double set triggers. Over all condition is: Good. Length of pull is 13-1/2”, overall length is 50-1/4”, and the weight is 18.0 lbs
