VERY RARE BALLARD MODEL 1-3/4 FAR WEST HUNTERS RIFLE IN CALIBER 40-65
Description: Very rare gun which was only made for approximately a year and a half in 1880-1881. Orig 30 inch full round heavy barrel with a VG+ shootable bore that would probably clean to better. Orig sights include typical Marlin Buckhorn rear and blade front. Overall metal is a plum brownish patina coloration with sharp corners, good markings, and no pits. Wood has an old age crack in the wrist but is solid. Numerous dings and mars from hunting use and a sliver missing along the front forearm on the top edge. Rifle style butt. Loop lever and double set triggers that set this Model apart from the 1-1/2. Decent little gun that is all orig and virtually impossible to find!
