1850's Large Bore Heavy Barreled Percussion Rifle Made By J. Miller, Rochchester, N.Y.
Description: An Early 1850's Large Bore Heavy Barreled Percussion Rifle Made By "J. Miller, Rochester, N.Y." In Nice Untouched Condition. All original & complete. The rifle has nice metal and markings on the barrel. It is marked "J. MILLER/ROCHCHESTER, N.Y." The heavy barrel is 1/2 octagon and 1/2 round. It has double set triggers on it. The percussion lock and top tang are engraved. All of the metal on the rifle has an even and untouched natural darkening patina on them. The brass trigger guard is fine and untouched. The heavy barrel has 1/4" thick walls and is 1 1/8" wide. The bore in the rifle is 9/16" in diameter. The barrel is 33 1/2 inches long. It has a long range sight on the end of the muzzle. The rifle has fine wood throughout with a nice finish to it. It appears to have has a lollipop sight behind the tang at one time as there is a hole for one in the wood.
