FANTASTIC NIMSCHKE ENGRAVED CASED 3 BARREL SET BALLARD RIFLE
Description: Manufactured by Brown manufacturing Company of Newbury Port Mass. Pictured on page 36 of the Nimschke Engraving book by R L Wilson. It has the beautiful Nimschke style flowing scrollwork that is unmatchable. Absolutely flawless engraving. On the bottom of the frame is "LDN". Wood has a cheekpiece stock with most original varnish and a few handling mars. Rifle style buttplate that also has nice engraving. Beach's combination front sight, flip up rear sight and a folding tang sight. Barrels are 32 RF, 38 and 44. Fitted in a homemade oak case. Barrels retain most bright blue. Receiver has turned a smokey color with good traces of case color. This Ballard was in Norm Flayderman's collection for 20 years or more and then in my own collection for about 20 years.
