 Early & Very Rare Civil War Colt Model First Model Revolving Sporting Rifle Serial #2 With Scarce Hand Engraved Colt Address

An Early & Very Rare First Type Civil War Colt Model "First Model Revolving" Sporting Rifle "Serial #2" With Scarce Hand Engraved "Colt Address" In Fine Untouched Condition. Serial #2, All matching numbers. All original and complete. The barrel is 24 inches long and the bore is .36 caliber. Only 1,000 made from 1856-1859. The entire rifle has fine metal, markings, and edges. The cylinder on the rifle has a light but visible cylinder scene on it. The  very rare barrel address is hand engraved in script and reads "ADDRESS S. COLT HARTFORD CT. USA". Very few of these were made with this barrel address. most likely under number 10. The barrel retains most of its original blue with the some small areas turning to a plum color. The rest of the metal on the rifle has a wonderful plum chocolate brown natural patina on it. It has a very fine bore and action. This Is A Very Rare Example Of A Colt Serial #2 "First Model Revolving Sporting Rifle" With A Scarce Hand Engraved "Colt Address" On It. It Would Be a Fantastic Addition To Any Fine Colt Or Antique Gun Collection!
