Quackenbush Safety Rifle .22 Short Single Shot Rifle
Description: Available - this neat old Quackenbush Safety rifle. Chambered for .22 Short (only), it's a very unique item! The Quackenbush rifle, invented by industrialist Henry M. Quackenbush, is a cleverly made "Boys' rifle" sold in the 1893–1920 period. The 'monoblock" action works by snapping it open sideways, loading the chamber, closing the block and manually cocking the striker. There is no manual safety. This one is the take down version. It has a Shutzen style butt plate on a hardwood stock. The bore is so-so with visible rifling. The original blued finish is mostly faded away but there is no active rust. We have test fired and cleaned this rifle and function was entirely correct. Buyer pays $25.00 shipping and insurance to anywhere in the lower 48 - Alaska and Hawaii pay actual shipping, email for quote. we know this is an antique rifle, but because it chambers currently made ammunition, we will only ship this rifle to an FFL or C&R licensee.
